La Botiga del Prat has recently received a visit from technicians and heads of service from different Catalan councils as part of the training for professionals ‘ Attention to food vulnerabilities from a perspective of guaranteeing rights and not reductionist of the needs ‘, organized by the Diputació de Barcelona .
The training is given by the Food Research Team in Vulnerable Contexts, which belongs to the Social Work Research and Innovation Group (GRITS) of the UFR of Social Work of the University of Barcelona and includes a visit to two projects , one of which has been La Botiga.
About twenty technicians and heads of service from City Councils such as Gavà, Rubí, Santa Coloma de Gramenet, Granollers, Sant Adrià del Besós and La Garriga, among others, as well as technical staff from the deputation of Barcelona, were able to meet the Shop and the new workshop of Es Im-perfect by Espigoladors.
With the visit to La Botiga and the explanation of the project financed with EU Next Generation funds to open the service to citizens, the techniques and the team of ABD , Espigoladors , Im-perfect and the Ajuntament del Prat , the different people shared their views and experiences to reflect on the individual and community benefits of the project. Also about the challenges and difficulties in the process of creating, developing and sustaining the project.
The training has made it possible to generate debate and think among all the participants about the food guarantee and the models for access to food, the right to food, the transformation of food models and alternatives beyond the traditional examples.
La Botiga del Prat is a food guarantee service of the Ajuntament del Prat, managed in partnership by the Benestar and Development Association – ABD Group in partnership with the Espigoladors Foundation.
