Food security and sovereignty

In La Botiga, purchases work with a free choice and self-service model, like in any store or supermarket, although here you pay with Ricardes, our social currency.

We nourish ourselves in three ways to obtain food:

Donations

%

We establish donation circuits with small, medium and large donors.

Surpluses

%

We are part of the local food utilization network.

Suppliers

%

We buy from suppliers of the social, solidarity and cooperative economy, who provide us with fresh, seasonal and local produce.

Pricing policy

To promote a healthy and sustainable diet, we have a pricing policy that is often inverse to that of the conventional market: those products that are more nutritious and healthy have a lower price, while those recommended for occasional consumption have a higher price.

No bumps

To guarantee the free choice of purchase, we have a food offer without barriers or restrictions on the quantity of products, except for those foods that for budgetary reasons or for nutritional recommendations we cannot release, for example, animal protein, fats or products of which occasional consumption is recommended.

Freedom of informed choice

We work from the freedom of informed choice : we develop actions and strategies to raise awareness, spread and promote a healthy and sustainable diet that guarantee quality nutritional information but that preserves the possibility of each person and family to choose food who wants to follow
