OUR PRINCIPLES
Food security and sovereignty
La Botiga makes healthy, sustainable, varied and high-quality food accessible to food insecure households in the municipality, and to all citizens of El Prat de Llobregat.
Community participation
La Botiga energizes and supports community activation through participatory projects focused on food and sustainability. We collaborate with social and environmental entities in the territory to generate spaces for exchange, encouraging intercultural and intergenerational dialogue, tolerance and diversity as sources of learning and wealth.
Governance
We are based on a governance model based on the values of co-management, mutual aid, shared responsibility, democracy and equality. We encourage all the people and communities linked to the project to be involved in the decision-making, design and management of the space.
Sustainability and circular economy
We work to avoid food waste and surpluses generated in different links of the food chain. We are committed to reducing packaging, encouraging bulk consumption and revaluing organic waste, promoting circular economy circuits.
Learning and job placement
We promote strategies to improve the employment of people with difficulties in accessing the labor market, through orientation, training and insertion programs. We generate insertion circuits towards the fabric of the local food sector.
Local ecosystem of companies and entities
La Botiga collaborates with entities, companies and local agents, with whom we transform the food guarantee system towards a model that promotes food resilience and the sustainable growth of the productive fabric of the territory, as well as the principles of social economy, solidarity and cooperative We are committed to the organization and local management of food resources from a perspective of food sovereignty.
